Rantish
I'm working on something pretty important. When the project started, a programmer was taken off of the project. This person had all day to review a document I created that indicated how a process was to be programmed. Come the afternoon, I found out the document hadn't been reviewed. Due to the lead technical person's experiencies with this same programmer, my boss decided to remove said programmer from the project and hire two new contractors on.

One has pretty solid experience. The other is the spouse of a programmer who worked here back in the day.

I don't think the spouse has much experience. This is compounded by the fact that this person's English speaking / writing skills are not up to any kind of standard for work.

So, I'm leaning toward the very real possibility that this was a 'connections' hire. Pretty frustrating since everyone's working on a deadline and this is not the type of thing you throw a newbie programmer on.

Mind you, I'm assuming newbie-ness. I wouldn't be surprised if this person had previous programming work experience and was just clueless.

*sigh*

Oh, and the kicker is that this person was teaching online courses at the University of Phoenix. I'm not sure what courses were taught but based on the emails I've gotten, I would hate having this person as an instructor for an online course.

October Planning
I was interested in Wicca in my early to mid twenties but never started practicing. Though it was completely fascinating to me, I knew deep down that I wasn't a witch. My Wicca books are currently collecting dust on my bookshelves. The most awesome FormerBlondie™™ has developed an interest in this over the past year. I keep forgetting to send her my books (mailing anything out is not my strong point).

Last month she sent me a link to the annual Festival of the Dead. What better place to immerse yourself in Wicca than Salem, Massachusetts, right?

The Dumb Supper and Vampires' Masquerade Ball are currently on my list of events to consider. I'm sure Ghost Hunting 101 will be on FB's list. I am way too much of chicken for that, though I'll probably be coerced.

And of course, we'll have to go to the Psychic Fair.

We're going to take our respective men along and have a wonderful time.

Counting down....

Mindless weekend update

Friday - Went to Old Navy to find something to wear to bloodygecko's housewarming party. Found stuff. Of course I can't find what I actually wore on the Old Navy site. I found these tops in addition to the cream colored tunic type top with gold embroidery which I wore.

Saturday - Baked many cupcake cookies (96) for the housewarming. It's an easy peasy recipe that goes over really well. Just take cookie dough thawed out to room temp, teaspoon it into those small cupcake pans and frost. I made sugar cookie with cream cheese frosting, milk chocolate frosting and triple fudge chip frosting.

Watched the last quarter of Fight Club on regular t.v. I love that movie. Why don't I own it?

Had a good time at the housewarming with some WoW folks I had met before who are bg's friends in 'real life'. Had two shots of Ciclon that messed with my head a little. It's pretty tasty though and I'm not one for straight liquor unless it's Khalua or Bailey's.

Lamented the loss of an hour of sleep. Curse you daylight savings time! Ended up getting home close to 6 am.

Sunday - Woke up at noon and ordered two Western omelettes from Tios for me and the grumpy one.

Felt like going back to sleep but made coffee.

Hit the gym at 5:30 pm and was there for about two hours. As a result, I hurt today.
